The Mother Singers plan gatherings on the second and fourth Thursdays each month at 9 30 at the Methodist Church. They invite interested participants to join and share in singing sessions and community fellowship.

Flood of groundwater bills in Nebraska stirs debate as arctic winds sharpen drought effects. Ten bills introduced with gaps and loopholes, including LB 55 to private ground water, LB 149 on beneficial uses, SB 247 Ground Water Protection Act, and SB 296 cross-basin water transfer limits.

Fullerton Warriors outlast Polk Cubs 66-65 after four overtimes in the conference semifinal at Fullerton on January 20. Carlstrom 22 and Tallman 18 led Polk. final standings crown Fullerton over Stromsburg in the final 55-46 with Polk third at 66-52 over Beavers. Cubs host Stromsburg next.
Mr and Mrs Lawrence Hoffman celebrate 40 years with an open house on Saturday January 29 from 7 to 8 pm at the Legion in Hampton. Hosts are their children and grandchildren Mr and Mrs Larry Hoffman Scott and Rhonda Holdrege. Dance follows with no gifts requested.
