McKeever and son of Hubbell Nebraska announce a pure bred sow sale at Stromsburg starting at 1 o clock. The sale features 44 bred sows including 30 Poland Chinas and 14 Du Roc Jerseys. Also notes of community notices, club meeting at Lena Diehl’s home, January 20, and upcoming events with brief local updates.
W. W. Tulleys of Polk Nebraska announces plans to operate the painting and paperhanging business in Polk this year. He solicits work, will call on customers, and offers to finish unfinished work when weather allows. Accounts returned for collection.
Stockmen invited to buy a choice prairie island pasture six miles northwest of Polk Nebraska. The property includes 178 acres deeded and about 150 acres accretion, totaling over 300 acres, fenced and ready for cattle. Capacity about 15 head per season. J D Darrow of Stromsburg visited his son Bert and family. C V Lind and family were in Stromsburg last week. Polk Motor Company received a car of four cylinder Revs this week. Polk Cornet Band plans a sand concert in Arborville hall on Wednesday evening February second.
W W Hartman writes to the Progress praising Deuel Nebraska and listing five land bargains near town. Options include farms from nine miles at 28 per acre to four sections sixteen miles out at 12 50 per acre with easy terms and cites Chappel as the meeting point to save money.

The M W A held a class adoption Tuesday with 16 young men becoming members of the Modern Woodmen. Stromsburg Forester team led by Art Johnson organized the event with several named foresters present. A lunch of ham sandwiches and coffee followed, drawing praise for the successful gathering and appetite-filled attendees. Deputy Reed, visiting for district work, expressed pride in the event then departed for Lincoln. Earl Lindburg traveled to Polk with Grandma Lindburg joining Mrs. A. P. Lindburg for a weeklong visit.
