Allan Hill 19 Killed in Action in Vietnam
Bruce Hill Allan, 19, youngest son of Mr and Mrs Robert Hill Torrance California, was killed in action in Vietnam January 9 1969. His body was shipped home and services were held January 17 in Torrance. He is survived by his parents and an older brother Dennis. Allan arrived in Vietnam last November as a private in the army infantry. An aunt Mrs E J Allison lives in Stromsburg. Carl Salchow Returns Home from Gulf Duty
AT1 Carl Salchow arrived in Kearney after eight months aboard the DSS Constellation in the Gulf of Tonkin. He served as shop supervisor with Flight Squadron 143, which earned the efficiency medal. Salchow received the Good Conduct Medal for four years in the Navy’s air wing and will depart Friday for Oceana, Virginia to be stationed there.
