ASCS County Committee announced signups begin January 31 1966 with a deadline of April 1 1966 for wheat and feed grain programs. CAP signup starts January 31 1966 with later deadline. withdrawals allow 15 days to apply to annual commodity programs.
Severt Oquists and Raymond Johnsons take a jet trip to St. Petersburg Florida for a CCA tour. Several Osceola and Polk County residents host, visit, and share meals across multiple households during the week.
Hordville events highlight Luanne Lindburg’s fourth birthday with family and friends from Lincoln York Arcadia and Hampton. Ordination of Pastor Al Moyer followed a Platte Valley Board and Ordination Council meeting at the First Baptist Church with church ladies serving meals.
Polk Happenings lists Friday luncheon guests for Mrs. David Ekdahl with Florence Anderson and others from Scottsbluff. Sunday guests include Mr. and Mrs. Keith Heins and family, Vincent Caster and Denise, Melvin Heiden and Allan, Paul Budnick and Ralph Budnick with Tim, Bill Budnick and Bobby K, all from Hampton, attending Jackie’s birthday and the Heidens wedding anniversary at Ronnie Heiden’s home.
The Swede Plain WSCS January meeting met in the church parlor after noon. Mrs. Willard Adelson led devotions. Mrs. Lester Widga presided over the business meeting. Program leaders were Mrs. Walter Stohl and Mrs. Arthur Samuelson.
Mr and Mrs C Marvin Fredrickson attended the Kearney State College music department program at the college auditorium Sunday evening. Their daughter Jane sings alto in the chorus, and Kathryn Jensen, daughter of Mr and Mrs Maynard Jensen formerly of Polk, is a soprano in the chorus.
