Mrs Glatter Dies at Shelby After Long Life
Mary Eller daughter of Frank and Mrs. Eller was born November 9 1870 in Columbus Nebraska and died February 14 in Shelby at age 67. She married William Glatter in Columbus September 26 1888 and he died May 27 1931. She left twelve children including Martha Messing and several Glatter offspring, twenty two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral was at Sacred Heart Church Shelby at 9:30 Wednesday with Rev O Boyle officiating and burial in Shelby cemetery.

Merrick County officials report Lewis Sutke 23 shot himself with a shotgun. His body was found near his Silver Creek area farm home seven miles west after a missing night. He is survived by his parents George and Mrs Sutke, a brother, and four sisters.

One Act Play Wins Superior at District Contest
Miss Dorothy Pearson and her school’s one act play cast earned a superior rating at the District Declamatory contest in Plattsmouth. Nine schools competed east of Nebraska. Polk was among three to win Superior for the play Spark Inn.

Osceola Girl Hurt on West Coast
Irma Hastings, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. N. Hastings of Osceola, employed in California, sustained head and back injuries in a toboggan accident. Initial reports warned of critical condition but later said injuries were not life threatening. She is under Dr. R. L. Schroeder care, the former Osceola physician now in the West Coast.
