Osceola defeated Stromsburg in the county finals by stalling the last three minutes to win 46 82 and claim the title for the first time in nearly ten years. Auxiliary Heirs February Meeting Recap
The Legion Auxiliary met in the Legion Hall with 25 members and 1 visitor. They sewed carpet rags and discussed Bloodmobile dates in Polk in April. A $5 donation to the Little Red Schoolhouse fund was approved and Tag Day for the Heart Drive was planned. Members Jo Ost berg Irene Green and Anna Eisler were named to the drive committee. The Auxiliary Legion Conference in Grand Island February 16 and 17 was noted with plans to attend. A rug purchase committee was formed and a $5 Heart Drive gift approved. A lunch was provided by Mrs. C. J. McCoy Fern Myers Shirley Phillips and Ardis Wilhelms.

The February meeting of the High Prairie Farm Bureau Unit drew 60 people to the school house Tuesday evening. Wheat Starts Greening Up Across Farms
Higher temperatures last week and early this week prompted wheat to begin greening. Farmers report favorable conditions with a need for a little more surface moisture. A snow cover through spring would help, though sharp post growth freezes could threaten winter hardness. Corn conditions are similar with some feeding shortages but no immediate supply danger. Some farmers plan crib moves to dry corn for summer, and moisture levels are higher now than at harvest. Baby chicks show weak interest due to high feed costs and low egg prices. As of press time surface moisture is improving.
Polk Town Boys Fall to Osceola in Narrow Loss
Polk Town suffered a 48 to 42 defeat as Osceola edged ahead Monday night. Bill Sapp and Kenny Upton led Polk with the top scoring effort.
