Maurice Kremer, a 54 year old Hamilton county farmer who has lived in the county for 48 years, filed this week as a State Legislator candidate from the 25th District. He owns 580 acres locally and operates a 640 acre farm with his son. Kremer, now residing in Aurora, is a partner in Farmade Inc., Co. of Aurora. He served 11 years on the Aurora school board including two terms as chairman, and chaired both the county irrigation and extension boards. He and his wife have four children Kenneth a missionary to Korea, Mrs Herb Roszhart Jr of Sioux Falls, Robert on the farm, and Beth in high school.

Mr and Mrs Grant Willits traveled to Golden and Denver to visit the Rudeen family and attend their daughter Rena May Willits wedding to Eldon Lawson at Immanuel Baptist Church in Denver. The Willits family also visited the Rudeen home and returned Sunday evening.
A school caucus in the grade school auditorium drew 51 ballots on Tuesday evening while the village caucus saw 41 voters. Incumbent Don Hanquist and four challengers were listed for two open school board seats, with Floyd Merchant not seeking re election. Names on the ballot include Dean Myers N B McNaught Chas Norquist Marvin Fredrickson Larry Killion Norris Alfred. Vacancy committees for the school district and village were named Vern Eklund Wendell Shaw Eldon Johnson and Albert Sundberg Hilding Strand Elmer Hanquist respectively.
Supt Neal McCormick states he will not return as Polk Schools superintendent next year to pursue further education. He announced the plan at the school board meeting, with the district expressing regret over his departure and praising his administration.
M G Lindburg of Polk County Rural Public Power District and member of the NREA Executive Board took part in the 26th Annual NREA meeting in Lincoln. He chairs the Resolutions Committee and delivered his panel's report on Nebraska's 36 rural electric systems during the final Thursday session.

Mrs. Robert Willits hosted an absentee linen shower for Rena May Willits on Wednesday afternoon. The event featured a bingo game and unwrapped gifts viewed by guests, then wrapped by the hostesses. Lunch in a red and white motif served to 30 guests.
