J R Horn Severely Injured After Train Accident
Mr J R Horn, a Santa Fe conductor for thirty years and brother in law of Frank Moffit, suffered a severe accident after being struck by a train. His left arm was amputated as a result. He had visited Polk two years earlier.

The leading lady of The Girl and the Gawk fell ill upon the company’s arrival in Polk Monday morning, forcing the O. K. theatre to cancel the date. A strong audience turnout observed the performance earlier, and the management arranged with the Soderholm Company to fill the date.

Greeks Have Night Out At Fruide Hotel After Snow Rescue
About 28 Greek railroad workers arrived from David City on the west bound passenger to shovel a freight stuck in a six foot snow bank two miles east of town. Pat Kelley led the group as boss though he was the only Irishman. They used the depot waiting room as their sleeping quarters and returned to David City Sunday afternoon on a special.
