Boxer Baby Beef 4H Club Meeting Reports Planned Demos

The Boxer Baby Beef 4H Club met January 23 at Polk Community Hall and planned demonstrations at each meeting led by Loren Oberg, Lynn Oberg, and Luann Oberg on making a rope halter from ten feet of rope. They discussed calf diseases and treatment, sale options for one calf at the fair, possible rail sale of another, and donated $1.50 to the March of Dimes. Mrs Gilbert Anderson and Mrs Arnold Wendell provided lunch. next meeting set for February 13.

Cubs Week Ends With Wins And Losses

The Cubs opened with a 27 to 172 loss to Stromsburg last Saturday, a game noted for sparse space and enthusiasm. On Tuesday they rebounded, defeating Bradshaw 60 to 47 as they controlled play, holding Bradshaw to five points in the fourth quarter. They face Osceola Friday in another tough matchup.

Faithful Workers Club Meets At Ostrand Home

The Faithful Workers Club gathered January 24 at Mrs Clarence Van Ostrand’s home. Members recalled past meetings and donated to Polio and Heart Funds. They voted to hold the annual club supper February 6. Mrs Harold Carlson led a feathered flower craft. A Valentine themed lunch was served by Mrs Van Ostrand and Mrs Noel Kealiher. Ella Cramer won the door prize.
