Deuker, daughter Morris Fisher of Polk Nebr, sister Mary Nieuwenhuis of Arizona, brothers Carl and Alvis Hill of Texas, and four grandchildren. Services were at Goetz Funeral Home Las Cruces with burial at Masonic Cemetery Las Cruces. Edwin Deuker’s address is 1801 East 3rd St T or C NM 87901.

Polk Cubs Rally To 56 43 Victory Over Silver Creek

The Polk High Cubs improved to 2-1 with a 56 43 win over the Silver Creek Tigers. Tom Carlstrom led with 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Randy Branting Brian Bedient and Monty Hudson each added 10. Dana Anderson grabbed 20 boards and Polk dominated the fourth quarter after a 32 21 halftime edge. The Cubs play Genoa tonight and host St Edward Friday.

Hulda Sagehorn Celebrates 80th Birthday With Open House

Sunday afternoon open house honored Hulda Sagehorn on her 80th birthday drawing about 100 guests. Four sons from Colorado and Nebraska welcomed guests as activities included cake shaped like a Bible and Christmas centerpiece. Sagehorn, lifelong Zion Lutheran Church member, has four sons, many grandchildren, and stepchildren. post-event Christmas supper followed.
