Mrs Robert Hopkins spoke at a Sunday reception for Bishop and Mrs Monk Bryan at Aurora's Methodist Church. She is the newly elected president of the United Methodist Women of the South-Central District and presented a 50 ribbon corsage for Missions. Rev and Mrs Hopkins greeted 350 attendees and joined a 5 o'clock dinner honoring the bishop and wife.
The Rainbow Rebekah Lodge held its annual Christmas supper on December 9 at the lodge hall. Nina Burke of Stromsburg received a 50 year pin, the first and only member to do so. gift exchange followed the meeting with coffee and cookies.
