Court Rejects Name Change Co uperperson Amid Sexist Language Debate
New York State Supreme Court Justice rejected Ms Cooperman to Cooperperson arguing name changes could trigger nationwide repercussions. He praised feminist principles but warned against language shifts that might strip gendered terms from everyday life. Editorials in Orleans Parish and discussions by editor John Bobear critique sexless language while noting its impractical elimination of bias.
