Two Auto Accidents Leave Several Injured Near Polk
Two auto accidents in the county last week caused serious injuries to at least one person. A collision west of town involved Junior Sealey of Polk and Lee Seibler of Aurora, with the Leib Jer car heavily damaged and Sheriff Peterson investigating. A separate crash west of Polk saw a Texas rider collide with a trailer linked to Gilbert Benson’s car. the rider was hospitalized in Grand Island for treatment.

On August's second Tuesday 1945 the Lind family gathered at Buckley Park with 47 attendees. Members returning from service include Paul Gustafson Dale Larson and Donald Dahlin. Marriages added new branches such as Alvin Stranberg to Rose Marie Nyberg and Rose Bedent to Eldon Anderson. Winnie Gabrielson, missionary in India since 1935, rejoined the family. The day ended with a Stromsburg whistle signaling the Jaguars’ surrender.
