Mr and Mrs Lyle Widga and Bonnie Carlson visited Tuesday evening in the Lloyd Lind home. The Polk Gideons held their annual picnic supper at Polk Park Monday. Friday supper guests at the Alvin Strawberg home in Hordville included Mrs Mary Nyberg Helen Nyberg of Cody Ky Mr and Mrs Rudolph Nyberg Mrs Artur Trennepohl and family of Rapid City SD Mr and Mrs Arvid Stranberg and family of Central City. Dinner guests at the Lyle Dorn burgh home last Wednesday were Mrs Fred Kuenzli and Mr Nels Person of Columbus and Mrs David Butts of Maitland Mo.

Mr and Mrs Lloyd Lind of Polk and daughter Arlyce attended the University of Nebraska Summer Orientation Program in Lincoln. The two day schedule featured tours meetings with advisers seminars on student government testing sessions and informal discussions. Participants stayed in Marie Sandez residence hall. Local residents hosted guests and family visits with gatherings at several homes in Lincoln and York.

The Village Board of Polk met August 2 at the Polk Hotel with Saylor Myers Alfred Harless present. Killion absent. Minutes approved. Treasurers report and Light and Water report accepted. The board authorized leasing the barber shop to Andrew Enevoldsen per lease dated August 15 1966. Bills totaling 1754.28 and other charges are approved for payment. meeting adjourned.
