Food Stamps Sold in Polk County Schedule

Food stamps will be sold for the first time in Polk County on August 11 at the Polk Hotel from 1 30 to 3 30 and at the City Clerk office in Stromsburg from 3 to 4 30. They will also be sold at the Welfare Office on Wednesday August 12. Future schedule sets Polk 1 30 to 2 30 on the second and fourth Tuesdays each month and Stromsburg 3 to 4 30 on the same Tuesdays.

Baby Tamara Sue Coover Born At Litzenberg Memorial

Mr and Mrs Larry Coover welcomed a daughter Tamara Sue at Litzenberg Memorial Hospital Central City on July 28 weighing 7 lb 6 oz. A son was born to Mr and Mrs Harvey Blase of Paola Kansas on July 30 with paternal grandmother Mrs Emalyne Blase of Seward noted. Rickie Johnson of Osceola visited Gordon A Johnson’s home for several days last week.

Polk High Athletes Physical Exams Scheduled

Physical examinations for all Polk high school athletes will be held at Polk Medical Clinic on August 18 at 1 00 PM. All athletes must see Richard Hoops before the exam to obtain the permit and examination card before going to the clinic.

The Midgets of the Little Six League begin play Friday at 6 30 with Gresham and Benedict at 6 30 and Osceola versus Waco at 8 00 Shelby and Polk have byes.
