Voters Elect New Members To School And Village Boards

In the village election 123 votes were cast and three new trustees will join the village board. In the school election 173 ballots chose Roger Hanquist and Dwayne Miller as new school board members, with Arnold Neuhaus and Burdette Flodman also listed among results.

Legion Auxiliary Serves 49th Birthday Dinner to Members

The American Legion Auxiliary hosted the Legion members and their wives at the Hall on March 19 for the 49th birthday celebration. State Commander Robert Lawry of Cairo attended as a guest and spoke. Annette performed two piano solos and the triple trio sang two numbers. Songs from past wars were performed by the group and pie coffee and two birthday cakes were served.

Palm Sunday Concert by Polk Community Chorus Sunday

The Polk Community Chorus directed by Miss Ellen Spray will present the Palm Sunday Concert at 8:00 P M Sunday April 7 in the high school auditorium. Hulda Elizabeth Ueckert born March 3 1901 near Polk Nebraska died March 24 1968 at Litzenberg Hospital Central City at 67. She married Ralph Branting January 28 1920 and lived on farms near Clarks Polk. Survived by husband two sisters Viola Ueckert Alvina Eichenlaub two brothers Herbert Cole Henry and several nieces and nephews. Services were held March 28 at Polk Methodist Church with Rev. Willis Patten officiating. Interment Polk Cemetery.

First Polk High Track Meets Open April 6 at Henderson
