Lincoln Seedling Shipments Set For March Start

Clarke McNary seed lings and transplant trees will be shipped to Nebraska farmers starting March 31 unless weather delays. Evergreens come from the Nebraska national forest at Halsey and broad leaf varieties from Fremont storage. About 50 000 trees will go to 300 farmers daily.

Henry C. Richmond of Omaha says 85 WPA workers and volunteers will draft about 250000 words describing Nebraska for an American Guide under WPA sponsorship. The state fire marshal reports 14167 fire hazard elimination orders last year with 329 towns inspected. Nebraska CCC camps to be abandoned in April

Nebraska congressmen were told six CCC camps would be abandoned between April 1 and 15 leaving 19 camps in the state for the next period. Five soil conservation camps at Fullerton Spalding Pawnee City Ravenna and Nelson will also be closed. A state park camp at Wild Cat Hills near Gering will be discontinued. Ongoing work in incomplete programs will resume later.
