Erickson 80th Birthday Celebration Noted

Mr E M Erickson was honored on his 80th birthday with a Sunday afternoon gathering at the Erickson home attended by 28 relatives. Guests included Norman Evelyn Erickson of Lincoln Marvin Ehn of Ceresco Myrtle Ehn Central City Alvin Stranberg Hordville Elvera Nyberg and others. Lunch followed the afternoon visit. Local relatives and guests also spent time with extended family in Omaha and Columbus visits noted.

Areawide winter storm leaves Polk and York without power

A March 29 storm dumped ice and wet snow across York County causing more than 5000 poles to break and widespread outages. REA and NPPD reported weeks of repair ahead with Polk and surrounding areas facing water, heating, and communication disruptions as residents and guards scrambled to restore essential services.
