Kisler Selected for Girls State Participation

Julia Kisler has been chosen by the Pork American Legion Auxiliary to attend Girls State from June 5 to 11 along with 372 Nebraskan girls. Pamela Ostberg was elected as alternate. Girls Staters organize a mythical state and participate in democracy. Julia is the third Kisler girl to represent her local Auxiliary.

Food Stamp Schedule Change Effective April 1 1971

The sale dates for food stamps are revised. In Polk county they will be on the 2nd Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon at the Polk Hotel. Stromsburg moves to the 2nd Tuesday from 1:15 to 3:00 p.m. at the City Utilities Office. Osceola’s 2nd Wednesday runs 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon at the Welfare Office. Shelby’s 2nd Wednesday is 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. at Shelby City Hall.
