Belle Martin Weds Claude Winney at Emmettsburg Parsonage

Miss Belle Martin of Mallard and Claude Winney of Mammoth California were married by Rev Clegg at the M E E parsonage in Emmettsburg on Wednesday at 2 PM. Attendants were Will and Gertie Martin. After supper the couple left Thursday toward Omaha and the Black Hills.

Humboldt sub district yields two oratorical winners

Reyman and Westholm Marry in Spencer Church Parsonage

Clarence A. Reyman and Edna Westholm were married at the Christian parsonage in Spencer on March 5. The couple planned secrecy, but last week's Spencer papers revealed the news. Clarence is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Reyman and has grown to manhood in the area.

Ware Farmer Indicted by Federal Grand Jury

Frank P. Collings of Ware indicted by a federal grand jury at Ft Dodge for violating the United States Contract Labor Law. He is accused of importing workers from England and placing them with farmers. Hearing was held at Ft Dodge yesterday.

The Excelsior Farmers Club met at G. W. Bellingers on Thursday evening March 11 with thirty five members present. The program included verses, quotations, papers on seed corn and oats by Claude Coppock and Mrs J C Humphrey, recitations by Frances Kyle Mary Ryan and Blanche Crane, and humorous reading. Bellingers are active members and neighbors, and all wish them prosperity in their new home.

Thursday Study Club Improves Knowledge of Women Inventors

The Thursday Study Club met with Mrs. Carroll on March 4 and, despite the storm, members named women inventors led by Madame Curie who discovered radium. Mrs. Greenwood read a paper on The Race Problem as it is today and Mrs. Carroll shared displayed items afterwards.

Mrs Lulu Windrath of Humboldt district deputy of the Royal Neighbors visited the local camp to assist in exemplifying work and initiate a class of candidates. She stayed with Mrs Frank Johnson. A Short Course for Country Editors is held in Ames the last three days of the week. We cannot attend. The event promises benefit for editors and country papers readers. There was good singing and dancing at the opera house Saturday night plus a play.

Henry Seimering, a United States Army musician sergeant stationed at Galveston Texas, visits his sister Mrs. E E Mather and family. A E Major and wife of Minneapolis are visiting at the J E Clanton home with former friends. Major formerly served as pastor of the Christian Church in town.
