Grandmother Wells Dies After Long Iowa Life
Obituary notes the passing of Grandma Wells a widowed matriarch who moved from Illinois to Iowa in 1866 and lived in Pocahontas county and Laurens. Survived by nine children and many grandchildren and great grandchildren, with Ira L. Wells predeceasing her in January 1915. Funeral at the Laurens Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Gerkin. Burial in Laurens cemetery.

Double Wedding Unites Wenell Gustafson Couples in Iowa
A double wedding took place Wednesday February 24 1915 at the Swedish Evangelical Mission Church in Albert City Iowa. Carl David Wenell with Mable Johnson and Arthur Johnson with Lillie Gustafson exchanged vows under a green and white arch with attendants from nearby families. The reception for about 150 guests followed. The brides wore cream silk and veils, grooms in black, and families praised the couples as strong local assets poised to begin farmhouse lives around March 1.
