Ethel Brinley Dies at Home After Heart Attack

Mrs. Ethel D. Brinley a 69 year old Pleasant Grove matron was found dead at her home on Wednesday morning. She reportedly suffered a heart attack Monday while preparing breakfast. Her sons Harold Brinley Eldon and Ross Brinley along with Burlin Driggs are among those notified. Funeral arrangements depend on arrival of additional relatives.

Funeral Rites for Helmas Nelson Set for Saturday

Funeral services for Helmas M. Nelson a longtime Pleasant Grove resident are planned for Saturday December 18 at 2 30 p m in the Third Ward LDS chapel with interment in Pleasant Grove cemetery A memorial service will be held earlier in Salt Lake City at the Harvard Ward chapel Nelson born November 24 1878 in Denmark died Tuesday at his Salt Lake City home survived by his widow and three children. He served as LDS mission president in Denmark around 1910 and was active in temple work and the Liberty Stake. He and Rosa Kate Nelson moved from Pleasant Grove to Salt Lake City years ago where he was custodian at the Belvedere apartment house. He was also connected with the Liberty Stake work and served as a mission president. Survivors include his widow and three children Mrs Verde Carter, and Mya Mildren Wirne Salt Lake City and Mie Elda Jepsen Bore Lave a whabier, OTR Agretin Halle Livi, Salt Lakes Cy ined LE erthnie abileteete.

Christmas Cantata at Pleasant Grove High School

The annual Cantata The Birth of Christ will be presented Sunday evening December 19 at 8 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Ira B. Wilson wrote the piece and Irwin Juwsen conducts. Sewer project rejected by Pleasant Grove voters

Pleasant Grove residents voted against a sewer ordinance and bond issues at last Saturday’s election. District 2 north of Center street showed 80 For and 2 Against on the ordinance while bonds failed strongly. District 3 south of Center street posted mixed results and higher opposition. Overall 599 votes were cast with 882 Against the sewer and 207 For the ordinance.

Mrs Lydia Henson Mathews Dies After Illness

Mrs Lydia Henson Mathews died Wednesday forenoon at her home after a years long illness. Born November 27 1877 in Franklin Idaho she moved to Lehi as a girl and later married Daniel H Mathews April 7 1903. Survived by three sons four daughters two grandchildren and eleven other grandchildren. funeral services pending.
