Newlyweds Honored At Second Ward Reception

Newly married couple Elya Neilson and Orlo Pierce were celebrated at a reception in the Second Ward Recreation Hall after their Thursday evening wedding. Attendants included maid of honor Elda Neilson, bridesmaid Anna Neilson, and best man Ward Pierce. The bride wore white lace with a fingertip veil and carried red roses and white carnations. attendants wore pink and lavender. Funeral Services Conducted For John Phillips

Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Third Ward LDS chapel for John Phillips who died Sunday in Glenwood Colorado. Bishop Calvin W. in charge, speakers included Bishop Walker and former Bishop Nell Page. Graveside prayer offered at Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Phillips was born February 11, 1867 in Whitewright Texas, a fruit grower by trade. Surviving are three daughters, eight grandchildren, one great grandchild, and his wife Eliza Jacob.

Primary Summer Festival a Successful Stake Event

About 500 attended the stake summer primary festival featuring a playlet titled Summer Primary in Review. Participants wore homemade costumes, sang, danced, and shared stories from studies of the Scandinavian world, the British Isles, Pacific islands, and American Indian missions. A parade, fish ponds, and handwork exhibits followed. The stake primary leadership thanks all helpers.

The S. W. Hilton family enjoyed a pleasant two day gathering last week. On Sunday all met at the Battle Creek canyon home and Monday evening they shared supper and games in American Fork canyon. Funeral rites held for Dale Armitstead

Funeral services for two year old Dale Armitstead son of Lloyd and Norma Maag were held Saturday at the Grove ward chapel with Bishop H S Walker in charge.
