Farmers Day Parade Highlights Cass County Karnival
The King Korn Karnival second day focused on farmers of Cass county with a horse pulling contest by Otto Schafer’s team near Pearl street. Cap tain Hugo showcased diving from the Seventh and Main tower with an 8 pm finale. The Cass county women chorus and local musicians entertained while County Attorney Walter H. Smith acted as announcer. A large parade featured Belgian and riding horses, cattle, hogs, floats from Lewiston and Four Mile, and three bands. The tug of war between country and city teams drew cheers, Sam Brown tap danced, and Mardi Gras festivities followed the dive. The Weeping Water band opened the evening with concert music before the parade and revelry continued into the night.

Weeping Water Man Seeks 20000 In Damages
Henry Christian of Weeping Water files a district court personal injury action against Andy O Moore for 20000. He alleges he was a guest in a car driven by John Finkle when their vehicle collided at the intersection of a north south road and the Louisville Greenwood road four miles north of Murdock on August 7 19239. The crash allegedly hurled the Finkle car sixty feet and caused injuries for which damages are sought.

Adam Schafer Injured in Highway Viaduct Crash
Adam Schafer, a prominent resident west of Murray, was severely injured Thursday evening while driving west on highway No 1 toward Murray. Blinded by sun near the viaduct, his car struck the north post, breaking his nose and fracturing the right elbow. He was taken to his sister Mrs. Herman Wohlfarth’s home in Murray for care.

Eleanor Minor Undergoes Serious Operation in Chicago
Miss Eleanor Minor daughter of Mr and Mrs L O Minor of Kankakee Illinois and former Plattsmouth residents is at Presbyterian hospital Chicago where she has undergone a severe operation. She visited grandparents Mr and Mrs T H Pollock and fell ill on returning home prompting specialist advice and hospital care.

Mrs. Sarah Kerr Dies. longtime Plattsmouth Resident
Mrs. Sarah E. Kerr 84, a Plattsmouth resident for 58 years, died Friday night after a long, devoted life. Born July 27, 1856 in Dixon Illinois, she married B C Kerr in 1877 and moved to Nebraska in 1881 settling in Plattsmouth. She was a longtime member of First Methodist, charter member and former president of the W C T U, and a member of the Women's Relief Corps. Surviving are son Merritt Kerr and daughters Mrs. Julia Reaser, Mrs. Alice Andrews, and Mrs. Elizabeth Rishel. husband and one son and daughter preceded her in death.

Religious Observance the King Korn Karnival Closing
A county wide religious observance closed Sunday afternoon with a large turnout across Cass County. Elmer Sundstrom organized the event with processions from High School Hill to the business district led by a band and color guards. Funeral services for Orville Kintz at St John’s Catholic Church
The funeral for Orville Kintz was held at St John’s Catholic Church with Monsignor George Agius presiding. The Erie Korn Karnival Friday parade moved two miles through the business district with hundreds of children, floats, bands, and costumes. Local and visiting groups led by the Auburn American Legion drum corps and the Glenwood band showcased floats from Nebraska City, Burlington, Louisville, and Plattsmouth, with school bands in prime uniforms. The wives of the fire department added a surprise feature, drawing applause as the parade concluded with veteran group displays and community spirit on Main Street.
