Legion Picnic Brings Large Turnout To Platte Grove

Mrs. Ignac Straka is reported to be gaining strength at her north Maiden Lane residence following a recent sudden stroke. Meat market operator suffers severe thumb injury
Phil Hirz a well known meat market operator suffered a very severe injury to the thumb of his right hand on Sunday while working on a slicing machine. The slicer cut along the edge of the thumb removing a large slice of flesh and the injury bled profusely requiring medical aid to stop the flow of blood.
