Loren McCrary of this city was seriously injured when he fell beneath a truck near the J F Wolff garage on South Fifth Street. He was rushed to a surgeon and then to University Hospital with severe abdominal injuries and possible fatal damage.
Routine clerical work dominated the county court house as deputies and officials handled business while visitors were few. Sheriff Quinton and family appeared, attending legal matters and the stock show at Weeping Water. Superintendent Alpha Petersen toured western schools. County Attorney Cole was away handling statewide legal affairs. Assessor G. J. Farley, the GOP candidate for county commissioner, joined the trip to Weeping Water to meet voters.
The court house was the setting for the announcement of a committee to form a community Cox and Roosevelt club. The group aims to present truth on public questions and will meet next Monday at the court house to launch the organization with a diverse slate of members including Frank M. Bestor C F Pratt and many others.

L. R. Moore and partner Richolt of Wichita Falls Texas visited W. H. Rainey’s home yesterday and left for eastern Iowa this morning. They run Moore and Richolt Lumber Co. and Reality Co. and own many lumber yards and large farmlands. They praised the Cadelac car and reported fine weather and good roads on their trip.
Reports from Omaha today say Mrs Homer Shrader, who underwent a recent operation at Ford hospital, is improving and showing hopeful signs. Friends in the county await her return home as Mrs A C Mutz, aunt, stays at the Blurray home during her illness.
Loren McCrary, 19, died after being run over by an auto truck yesterday afternoon. He was taken to University Hospital Omaha where an operation revealed a torn liver and internal injuries. Death came at 10 50 this morning. He was born in Wilmington Kansas and lived in the city for fifteen years with his parents Patrick and Mrs. McCrary and siblings John Douglas Artinsa and Merle. Funeral plans awaiting parents return.
The St Luke's Episcopal church school service league divides into sections for the year. Younger group meets 3 30 at Miss Margaret Donelan's home. New section led by Mrs W S Leete meets 3 20 at the library auditorium. Older section gathers 4 at the library. Hawksworth class at 7 30 at the library and the young men’s club at 7 30 at Mrs J S Livingston’s home. Members urged to attend.

Lizzie Speth wed Ernest Bolz at the Speth home in Alvo on September 28 with Rev. Norden officiating. The ceremony featured Ide Speth as bridesmaid and Otto Bolz as best man, followed by a noon dinner. Attendees included the Speth, Hindman, Rudolph, Henderson, Bolz and Gollmer families from nearby towns. The couple's attire was brown serge and white messaline, the bouquet red and white carnations and roses.
Yesterday afternoon at the court house Miss Anna Rich and Mr. Glen Pitman were married by County Judge Allen J. Beeson. Witnesses Mrs. Mary Winkler and Miss Gladys Conner attended. The couple will begin housekeeping in their new south city home.
The body of Loren McCrary was brought home from Omaha where he died yesterday morning. The funeral will be Sunday at 2 PM from his home on South Sixth Street with Rev. A V Hunter of the Methodist church officiating.
Ed H. Tritsch was among visitors in Omaha for a few hours today. He recently returned from an Omaha hospital and still feels the effects of his appendicitis operation.
Alfred Edgerton receives thanks from J F P Ackerman of Glenwood for saving Mrs Ackerman from drowning in the Missouri River. Ackerman presented the Overland car, retrieved by Edgerton from the river, as thanks noting the vehicle is an excellent project for repair to be as good as new.
This report notes the death of Mrs Edward Maybee after a six week siege of bronchitis and pneumonia fever. She died after being cared for at South Side hospital Omaha and at a sister's home north of Plattsmouth. Funeral services are set for Sunday at 2 30 PM at the First Methodist Church conducted by Rev A V Hunter.
W R Young returned from Perkins County near Grant after several weeks in the western state tending harvesting and threshing. He reports a good yield and will stay to handle business and be ready for any potential sales.
Mrs. A C Devis hosted a six o'clock dinner party for Jacqueline Devis birthday on Tuesday. The dining room featured a birthday cake with five candles and favor dolls for each guest. After dinner the children played games, bidding Jacqueline more happy anniversaries with friends Nadine Cloidt Maxine Cloidt Lois Jean Bessie Halstead Dorothy Farmer Margie Waldarth Jean Hayes Jean Caldwell Billy Rosencrans.
The funeral of August Nolting was held yesterday at 2 20 PM at St Pauls Evangelical Church with Rev H Kottich delivering a bilingual service. The church was crowded as friends paid tribute to a husband father and neighbor whose loss is deeply felt. The body was interred at Oak Hill Cemetery after hymns by the choir. Out of town mourners included Fred Gorder and wife Weeping Water N C Hales Omaha Carl Sezun Albert Schessel and wife Ashland among others from Elmwood Murdock and nearby areas.
E H Wescott arrived home from Los Angeles California after a six week stay with his parents and brother. He relaxed with family and old Cass county friends while visiting Santa Fe shops in San Bernardino and noted rapid growth at San Pedro the Pacific coast naval base and harbor. Mrs Coon Stoehr of El Reno Oklahoma left Plattsmouth after visiting relatives and friends to return south.
