The bi weekly Chamber of Commerce luncheon outlined official bridge opening and dedication events for Friday May 16 with a 12 30 luncheon for invited guests followed by afternoon ceremonies. Parking at the east end and a public address system were discussed to handle the crowd. The bridge will be toll free all day and speakers will be supported by committee efforts on decorations parade music luncheon parking and more.

Natural Gas Line Expected in Three Months
Lincoln officials say a natural gas line to serve Nebraska communities will be completed in about three months. The line will cross the Missouri River near the city, then run to Des Moines and Chicago under a consortium led by United Light & Power Co. The First Methodist Church held a large attendance fund drive culminating in a meeting at the church parlors. R. E. Bailey chaired the committee. about 850 was raised to reduce the church debt from the parsonage building, with 250 from the dime cards and major gifts from Wom en's Bible class 100, Ladies Aid 200, Social Workers 300, plus 600 from church societies.
