Elmwood man plead guilty to drunk driving in county court
Frank Hoffman of Elmwood admitted driving west on O street three miles east of Elmwood while intoxicated. He claimed a Syracuse sale earlier and two sandwiches and four beers. The court fined $50 plus costs and suspended his license for one year with possible revocation by the highway department.

Fire at country home causes smoke damage
A fire alarm at 4 30 am sent the local fire department to the Alvin Ramge farm home six miles south of the city. Firefighters found the fire already subdued by the family. An oil mop may have ignited a floor hole in the kitchen, causing smoke damage to the interior with little physical damage to the structure.
