Death of an Aged Pioneer Stephen Jochim at Lewisville
Stephen Jochim aged 71, a German native and Cass county pioneer farmer, died Sunday after months of illness at the Vogler home in Lewisville. He leaves seven children and widow absent since years past. Funeral Wednesday at 2:30 pm from the brick church southwest of town with cortege from the Vogler home.

Funeral of Fred Hawksworth Held
The funeral service for Fred W. Hawksworth was held at the family home on Vine Street attended by longtime friends. The Episcopal burial rite was led by Rev. Father W. S. Leete with songs by the church choir and a solo by Mrs. E. H. Wescott. He was laid to rest at Oak Hill cemetery in the family lot. pallbearers included D. Morgan, C. A. Rosencrans, T. Ti. Pollock, E. A. Wurl, E. J. Richey, John Bauer, H. F. Goos, and R. W. Clement.

Mrs Mary Buttery a Plattsmouth native and widow of Edward Buttery died in Lincoln at age 89. Pioneer of Nebraska, she came early and witnessed the frontier grow into a state. Survived by daughters Mrs George Ballance of Denver and Mrs Robert Ballance of Lincoln. aunt of Frank F Buttery and E M Buttery. Body to arrive Wednesday on No 4 at 9 48 and services at St Luke's church.

Change in Ownership of Movie House
The Moreland theatre in this city, long owned by K. Moreland of Missouri Valley, Iowa, is sold to the Parmele Theatre company which now affiliates with Hostettler Enterprises. The transfer takes place Sunday March 13, and the Lyric will be the renamed smaller theatre. Prices will not rise, remaining 10 and 20 cents at the Lyric and 15 and 25 cents at the Parmele.

Death From Hayloft Fall Near Union
Harry A. Osborne, 44, employed on Joe Dare’s farm near Union, fell through a hayloft trap door while loading hay and died the next day from multiple injuries. He had moved with his family from Nehawka ten days earlier and was survived by his wife and several children. His body was sent to Fairplay Missouri for interment.

Parmele Theatre Co announces the purchase of the Moreland theatre in Plattsmouth and will take possession Sunday March 13. The firm affiliates with Hostettler Enterprise to form a larger circuit across Nebraska Iowa Kansas Missouri. They pledge no admission price increase at both venues Lyric and Parmele keeping 10 and 20 cents at the small house and 14 and 25 cents at the Parmele. They promise continued popular productions at current prices.

Waterman Celebrates Eighty Fifth Birthday in Plattsmouth
John Waterman, longtime Plattsmouth resident and former lumber businessman, marks his eighty fifth birthday today. Fire Department Busy Responding to Marquetts Residence Blaze
Firefighters rushed to J. W. Marquetts residence south of the Burlington shops after a 4 am alarm. The roof fire, started by a defective flue, damaged a large section of the roof and caused nearly 500 in losses, partially insured. A later morning alarm for grass burning on Wintersteen hill was extinguished almost immediately.
