Spies Seeks Comfort as Omaha Eye Operation Proceeded

Miss Marie Spies underwent a serious eye operation at Methodist hospital in Omaha by Dr Giford. Her condition worsened briefly during surgery which required operating on both eyes, but she recovered enough to show improvement. Her mother Mrs Herman Spies traveled to Omaha and will stay at the hospital until Marie improves.

The Improved Order of Red Men local lodge held a Friday banquet at the Wig Wam to honor chief medicine man Dr. E. W. Cook. County Judge Beeson served as toastmaster as speeches and toasts followed with a feast featuring three baked calfish and sweet potatoes.

Kate Smith of this city born December 8 1886 Emerson Town married John Warren December 25 1903. They had three children Ethel May Karl Francis Lois Marjorie. Special musical offerings by Mrs. Marie Howerter and Mr. Smith accompanied the preaching and the evangelistic party performed His Love Can Never Fail. No services tonight but tomorrow brings a men's meeting, a women's meeting, and a large tent service in the afternoon and evening.
