Young Soldier Killed in Car Wreck Near Fort Crook
Bohumil Volsicka a 22 year old soldier at Fort Crook died after a Sunday 4 50 AM crash while returning from Plattsmouth. The car struck the bridge girders then leaped onto the side and plunged 200 feet to the roadbed. He died at the post hospital hours later. Survivors include five brothers and his parents of Clarkson. Funeral held Tuesday at Howells.

Wreck Near Louisville Injures Couple. Sheriff Investigates
Sheriff Joe Mrasek investigated a four o'clock wreck three and a half miles southwest of Louisville at an intersection. Kenneth Robers drove a 1934 Ford coupe and collided with Joseph Hecel and his wife Bertha Horel. The Hecels suffered minor injuries. Robers was not seriously hurt. All involved were from Louisville.

Omaha Youth Drowns at Merritt Beach
Robert Ostronic, 17, son of John J. Ostronic of 1405 Vinton Street, drowned Monday afternoon shortly after 4 at Merritt Beach north of Omaha. Fire department and resuscitation equipment used for two hours. Ostronic had just left a lunch with friend Joe McElligot, 18, and had swum across and back before vanishing. Lifeguards found him in twenty feet of water. Dr. R. P. Westover aided in revival efforts. The body was moved to Sattler and later to Dworak Chapuran mortuary for arrangements.
