The Norfolk Packing Co. plant operates two eight hour shifts from 5:30 a m to 10:30 p m as workers increase to meet rising demand. Current work includes string beans and pork and beans with sweet corn packing due in two weeks. Old resident of Plattsmouth Catherine Hawksworth died at her Fifth and Vine home after a long illness. Born in Hessen Dammstadt Germany September 14 1840 she came to the U S at age five. Survived by sons Frank Denver Joseph Omaha and David Detroit and daughter Mary Cook Plattsmouth. Funeral arrangements await son David's arrival from Detroit Saturday.
