Child Dies After Sunday Auto Crash Near Union

Capture of Two Coal Thieves in Oreapolis
Missouri Pacific officers captured two men in Oreapolis for stealing coal from railroad cars. Charles Cunningham and Albert Kelly, both from South Omaha, pleaded guilty in county court and received fifteen days in jail. The coal was returned to the public, and the truck was stored pending owners’ claim.

Thomas Johnson 73, longtime Cass county resident, died January 23 in Kansas City Missouri. Son of Sylvester and unnamed mother, he lived near Louisville and Cedar Creek after moving from the Cass county farm in 1865. He married Elizabeth Halpin in 1886.
