More Suits as Result of Tunnell Auto Smashup
Three more damage suits totaling 25 000 were filed in district court stemming from the February 9 1938 auto wreck. Dr Molak seeks 10 000 for personal injuries while Keil and Clifford Tunnell seek 7 500 each. The cases join a prior 75 000 claim from the same wreck. William Vallery, 15, suffered a severe injury when a jumping rope got caught in a shaft at the state industrial school in Kearney. He climbed a table to remove the rope, was pulled into the shaft, and his arm was practically torn off at the elbow, leading to amputation between elbow and shoulder.
