The city halted at noon as all business closed for Thanksgiving Day. Plattsmouth High football visited Nebraska City, many youths traveled to cheer the blue and white. St. Paul’s church held the sole special service, while others gathered Wednesday for union services. Funeral of John Cory Held at First Methodist Church
The funeral for John Cory, longtime city resident since the 1870s, took place Wednesday at the First Methodist church with Rev. H. E. Sorter officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill cemetery as L. O. O. F. pallbearers presided. Cory, born September 4 1853 in Hardin County Ohio, moved to Nebraska in 1872 and later ran hotels with his wife Alice E. Brosius who died in 1925. He leaves four daughters, four granddaughters, five great grandsons, and several siblings and relatives from Nebraska and Iowa.

Dies at Masonic Home in city after long illness
George H. Croshaw died last night at the Nebraska Masonic Home infirmary where he had resided since March 14 1927. He moved with his wife from Schuyler Nebraska who died three months earlier. Survived by two sons George W. Crowshaw of Brady and Leroy Croshaw of Schuyler and a daughter Jennie Jenkins of Schuyler. Funeral arrangements pending with burial expected in the Oak Hill cemetery Masonic plot.

Yeisers Visit Omaha Pair Guests At Lincoln Delta Event

Mrs Herger Laid To Rest In Plattsmouth
Funeral services for Mrs. C L Herger were held Friday at Sattler Funeral Home with Rev C G Wichmann officiating. Born Mary Eldman in Pekin Illinois on April 11 1856 she moved to Plattsmouth in 1871 and died November 27 1928 aged 72 years 7 months. Survived by two grandsons Walter Herger step son Walter Herger and six sisters, the service noted her life in the community and bakery work with her late husband Carl L Herger.
