A joint meeting of the Ladies of St Pauls Evangelical and Reformed Church announced a reorganization under the new church constitution. The Ladies Guild was launched with officers: President Mrs Frank Horsak. Vice President Mrs FP Metisnger. Secretary Mrs Otto Pitz. Treasurer Mrs George Klinger. Executive session set for Wednesday at 2:30 at the parsonage to plan work. The first business session follows Thursday at 2 o clock, with all members urged to attend.

Return From Camp at Fort Crook Ends Youth CMTC Training
The 1939 Citizens Military Training camp closed at Fort Crook after a month of drill sport and recreational activities for youths from Nebraska western Iowa and South Dakota. Attendance was smaller yet the program benefited participants including Lester Reeves Bud Baker Stephen Devoe and Theodore Libershal with Devoe and Libershal also in the CMTC band.

Funeral for Mrs Geary at Murray Presbyterian Church
The funeral for Mrs. C. D. Geary a longtime Murray resident was held Thursday at the United Presbyterian Church in Murray. Rev. Neil Stewart led the service with hymns by the Meade sisters and accompanist Mrs. Gilmore. Interment followed at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Omaha, with Sattler Funeral Home directing. Mrs Geary born April 27 1888 near Wessington Springs SD died August 1939 at 51 years. Survived by husband Clarence, mother Mrs Myra Hartung, and brothers Walter and Albert of Omaha. She was an active church member known for unselfish service.

Joseph M. Hiter suffered severe lacerations to his right thumb and fingers while working with a plane at Fort Crook. A large portion of the tips of the thumb and second finger were lost, the first finger heavily lacerated. He was rushed to St. Joseph hospital in Omaha for treatment and released.
