Investiture ceremonies Sunday afternoon honored Rt. Rev. Monsignor Adolph M Mosler at St. Marys Church Plattsmouth with Most Rev Louis B Kucera presiding and conferring papal honors in a special service for the Lincoln Diocese.
The Very Rev. Adolph Maria Mosler of Holy Rosary Church was elevated to monsignor Sunday afternoon in a bishopric ceremony attended by twenty nine visiting and local clergy. Bishop Kucera presided as the investiture followed by a sermon from Father McFadden and remarks highlighting Mosler’s service as Lincoln diocese vicar general and administrator in the bishop’s absence.
The article recalls Father McFadden noting St. Mark feast and honoring church missionaries who carried Christianity to the Americas. It mentions early Jesuit services in Maine and along the Atlantic coast, with Bishop Kucera presiding benediction. A Sunday windstorm caused a two car collision two miles south of this city at 2 30. Three Omaha occupants were injured and taken to St Joseph hospital in Omaha for treatment. Drivers include Tony Genaitis and Miss Mary Sudekis with serious injuries. A Kansas occupant was not located.
Dr J R Thomson Nebraska dental hygiene director and Dr J Warren Bell maternal and child health director met Cass county doctors and dentists at the Hotel Plattsmouth for an educational program on infant and mother welfare. Present were Plattsmouth physicians and guests from Weeping Water Murray and Louisville.
Over the past week dogs have died from poisoning amid public outrage. The latest victim is a Springer Spaniel owned by Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Muncie, valued at $100, which died Tuesday after poisoning. Authorities plan tests to identify the poison and locate those responsible.
A weekend family gathering at Mrs. Ida Seybert's home honored Ruth Sayles Thomsen sister to Mrs. Seybert. Thomsen arrived early last week and will stay with her sister awhile as relatives joined Saturday then dispersed Sunday night. Attendees included Ed Krue of Wells Kansas Ruth Thomsen and family North Bend Nebr John Newton and daughter Audrey Claire North Bend Nebr Sayles Thomsen and two sons Kenneth Andres and John Edward Florence Nebr.
Cass county Sheriff and wife, arriving in Omaha by United Airlines from New York City, were hosted by American Security Co. and touredRadio City and the sub treasury vaults. The sheriff attends a May 4 Chamber luncheon honoring his and his brother's work against local bank bandits.
At the Rotary International banquet in Fremont Dr. Frederick W. Minty of Rapid City and Charles N Cadawallader won district A and district B governorships as part of the newly divided 19th district. S D Phelan retires as district 19 governor. The split places 19 B clubs in Nebraska and 19 A clubs in South Dakota and western Iowa. The new governors will choose the next convention city.
Miss Lois Bestor returned to Plattsmouth from the 46th Continental Congress of the D.A.R. in Washington D C. She and Miss Ann Walsh of Lincoln served as pages and met 3142 attendees from 211 parts of the United States.
Oliver H. Tower born July 26 1856 in Spenser county Illinois died April 24 1937 in Shenandoah Iowa. He lived in Cass County at Nehawka Avoca and Plattsmouth later retiring from rail work. Survived by wife in Council Bluffs and six children Walter Jess Alfred Cora Laura Ethel. Funeral Monday at the old Avoca home with interment there.
On and after May 2 the Plattsmouth State Bank will open at 8 30 a m and close at 3 p m.
Mrs. Alice Bates moves from sewing room to the recreation project and will offer classes in sewing and fancy work including dresses and clothes. High school girls should see her Tuesday at 3 30 pm at the Recreation Center, while all women are invited to meet at 2 pm for quilting exchanges and homemaker ideas with recipes shared.
Mr and Mrs August Bornemeier and son Willard of Elmwood and Mrs Lloyd Williams of near Murdock were injured when their car skidded on a slick road south of Madison. The car overturned three times. Willard was thrown free while Mrs Bornemeier was severely injured. They continued home after another car brought them to Elmwood. repairs were later made to the battered vehicle.
Last evening two large groups of workers at Burlington Refrigerator car shops met at Eagles hall to discuss organization plans. Representatives from each trades group were highlighted by Harry Shiffer as general chairman. A AFL representative discussed affiliating with the Brotherhood of Railroad Carmen, and sentiment favored joining the national organization.
The Missouri Pacific northbound train No 119 due at 6 20 was two hours late this morning due to locomotive trouble near Verton. The delay forced a pause before the train could proceed into Omaha.

Miss Helen L. Pleskac of Omaha and Mr. James C. Zitka of the city were wed in a ceremony at the As sumption church in Omaha. Attendants were Miss Barbara Zitka and George Pleskac. The couple planned a short honeymoon and will reside on Rock Street after May 1.
Miss Anna Egenberger died Monday night in Salt Lake City after several weeks of illness. She had lived with her aunt Mrs J V Egenberger for two years. Survived by mother Mrs Mors Egenberger, three sisters Mrs Florence Turpin, Mrs Mary Bell, and Mrs Ida Baumenart, and three brothers Fred B Des Moines William Lexington Carl local.
John Wallistrom, hospitalized in Omaha, was released and returned to his Plattemouth home Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hallstrom and Corrine of Avoca and Mrs. James Mauzy traveled to visit him. Avoca guests stayed at the Hallstrom home for the evening.
