Plano Independent School District trustees approved preliminary plans for R C Clark High School on Spring Creek Parkway near Alma Road. Architect Duane Jarvis proj ects a 180000 square foot, 5.8 million dollar building likely to be the district's most expensive per square foot. Open in 1979 80, the stacked design fits a constrained site near a future tennis center and stadium.

City Council Sets Thursday Session On Infrastructure Plans
The council will review city participation costs for paving and utilities in the Central Plano Industrial District and examine plans for Coit Road sewer work. Southwest Railroad Co. completed improvements along Jupiter Shiloh roads. The meeting considers Beck Branch Trunk Sewer funding, Schell Park lighting final payment, ceramic road marker bids, zoning sign revisions, budget session dates, and planning case reviews. Police logged 54 calls for assistance and arrested a 35 year old man for driving while license suspended. Investigations covered three thefts four criminal mischief incidents mostly in model homes one residential burglary and one motor vehicle burglary. Roadway Construction Closes Streets in Plano Detours Planned
Improvements to downtown Plano streets rerouted traffic with more detours to come. Construction of reinforced concrete roadways on 18th Street from Avenue K to Avenue P, Avenue N from 19th Street to 14th Street, Avenue M from 14th Street to 18th Street, and 16th Place from Avenue M to Avenue N began June 13, city traffic engineer Tom Walton said. Storm sewer project on 18th Street to connect north of 19th
Once Over Easy plans a two phase storm sewer along 18th Street from Avenue P to Avenue M and then north to connect with the existing system north of 19th Street. A detour will route traffic from 18th to 19th Street via Avenue P or Avenue M. Complete by December.

Plano Receives Largest City Check as Retail Tax Up 46 Percent
State Comptroller data shows Plano receipts up more than 46 from last year with a $124,040.28 payment, the largest Collin County city share. Other Collin County allocations include McKinney 46798.73, Frisco 2778.42, Wylie 5508.91, and Prosper 594.61 among 865 Texas cities. Total rebates exceed $39 million for the year, rising 15.1 percent from the prior period to $167.1 million.
