Jennifer Weston, daughter of Mr and Mrs Daniel R Weston of 2728 Knollwood, was elected governor of the American Legion sponsored Girls State convention. She was sworn in at noon Monday as chief executive of the 1978 Plano Senior High School graduating class.

In Plano a Sunday afternoon robbery at Mister M food store 1005 W 15th St left the clerk Kim Graham taped but unharmed. One or two suspects escaped with an undetermined amount. detectives listed several leads as officers also investigated a burglary at Keys N Things and an armed incident near a post office. Police made multiple arrests during the weekend on various warrants and offenses.

Ryan Livingston Sentenced to Death for 1974 Robbery Murd
James Livingston, convicted of the 1974 Hilltop Grocery robbery murder near McKinney, is scheduled for execution by electric chair on August 1 in 199th District Court. Plano planners approved a mixed SF 4A SF 3A and SF 2 residential zoning for a 118 acre tract at Alma Drive and Carpenter Road to avoid an economic class divide. Cambridge's request for 111.3 acres SF 4A and 6.97 acres retail was adjusted with 50 30 20 housing mix and a land study for Russell Creek I.
