Plano ISD Targets Conservation and Solar for 1977

Plano Independent School District plans energy conservation measures, school financing legislation, and a new bond program for 1977. Enrollment is expected to exceed 19 000 with 2000 additional students. The district seeks a solar heating grant for Carpenter Middle School and will study solar plus conventional heating as a backup for cloudy days.

Plano schools face funding changes and bond planning for 1977

Plano Independent School District officials expect state funding legislation to shape next year’s budgets and may trigger a new bond campaign to fund classrooms for an anticipated 10 000 new students over five years. Plans include a 9 10 grade high school, a new senior high stadium, Carpenter Middle School, and Saigling Elementary opening.

Auto Crash Kills Three In McKinney

A late Tuesday collision on State Highway 380 in north McKinney killed three people and seriously injured another. Lele Fay Hanse 32 driver Tracy Hanse 18 months and Hazel Walker 60 died. Dena Hanse 2 years old was hospitalized in fair condition. The truck driver was uninjured. All victims were from Anna.

One Person Is Arrested By Plano PD

A 56-year-old man was arrested by Dallas police after the vehicle theft. The Plano owner flagged down a patrol unit and the man was charged with theft over 200 dollars. expected to be upgraded to unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Plano officers logged 73 calls, four residential Burglaries, six thefts, a coin machine burglary, and one criminal mischief case. Three accidents occurred including a 1960 Chevrolet striking a gas pump on FM 544. other collisions involved a 1955 Chevrolet and a 1976 Cadillac. SH 289 and SH 121 intersection saw a 1963 Chevrolet and a 1970 Chevrolet crash.

Judge Prashaw Passes in Plano at 81

Judge Cecil J. Prashaw longtime Plano civic leader died last night in a local hospital. Funeral services set for 2 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church of Plano with entombment at Crown Hill Mausoleum. He founded the Plano Blood Bank and was elected justice of the peace of the Aarth precinct in 1974 after an April 1973 appointment. He moved to Plano in 1963 and led the Plano Chamber of Commerce twice as president and chaired the United Fund campaign. He was Ruling Elder Emeritus of the First Presbyterian Church.
