A charter DC-3 carrying the University of Evansville basketball squad crashes into fog near Cress Regional Airport in Evansville Indiana killing all 29 aboard. Assistant athletic director Bob Hudson brother of Bettye Blackburn is among the dead. the team was en route to Nashville for a game. University declares a day of mourning and cancels classes.
