Red Tape Delays Plano Beer and Wine Sales
The Plano City Council halted new restrictions on beer and wine sales as a County Judge hearing was set for next Monday. Voters approved sales months ago, but no applications passed verification and 16 remain to be considered under Texas law. Applications are now in Code Enforcement for checks on location rules near churches schools or hospitals.

As of Friday 18 applications were on file in Plano and 26 total. Chief Building Inspector Ralph Schick could not confirm how many were being checked, estimating perhaps nine or ten. Jerry Conner of One-Stop Grocery urged a delay until 1978 or 79. Plano has been dry since 1900 despite voters moving to wet.

New Adult Education Classes Planned for Spring 1978
Plano Senior High School will host 24 Adult Evening Continuing Education programs for the spring semester under Dr. J C Jernigan. Registration for 21 courses is set for Jan 10 and 11 from 6 to 8 pm in Building C, with late registration Jan 17 and 19 in the PSHS cafeteria. Gladys Harrington Public Library begins renting 550 copies of current best sellers monthly through McNaughton Book Service. Acquisition Librarian Carole Deily says new system speeds access by matching demand with limited reserve needs. Pioneer Park Expands with Folsom Donation
About 70 acres will form Pioneer Park after the City Council bought 41.6 acres and Folsom Investments donated 30 more. The donated flood plain land cannot be developed. The park will be bounded by Roundrock Trail and a TP&L easement, with Schimelpfenig Middle School and Beverly Elementary on its northern edge slated to open in August 1980.
