Master Plan Proposed for Far West Plano Residential Growth
Planning Consultant Marvin Springer detailed a master plan for the area west of Coit Road and east of Denton County line, seeking 5,400 acres of single family housing and 400 acres of multi family units. The plan also includes 650 acres of retail space and 400 acres of additional development, with no changes requested by City Council or Planning and Zoning Commission.

Five cases of criminal mischief, all minor, were reported to Plano police Tuesday. Officers investigated two residential burglaries and the theft of building materials. The department answered 43 calls for assistance and arrested three persons including for carrying a prohibited weapon, a Plano traffic warrant, and speeding. A 1975 Honda driven by Ida Belle Jones collided with a City of Plano Plymouth driven by Officer George Spurgeon Casper at 6 55 p.m. on SH 5 about 300 feet south of 18th St.

West Side Plan Stresses Residential Core with Corporate Expansion
City planners project 600 acres of commercial and 700 acres of industrial growth on the west side while preserving a predominantly single family character.
