Kalmbach accuses Ehrlichman of lying defends with lie detector

In a sworn deposition Kalmbach Nixon era lawyer accuses John Ehrlichman of lying and offers a polygraph to support his side in the Watergate related $6.4 million damages suit filed by Democratic officials against Republicans over the 1972 bugging of Democratic headquarters. Police will not prosecute a 7 year old burglar involved in 21 Miami home break ins and turned him to his grandmother for a spanking after he stole hundreds of dollars worth of goods to buy candy.

Aiken, Pulitzer Poet and Savannah Native, Dies at 84

Conrad Potter Aiken, 84, Pulitzer Prize winning poet and noted American writer, died of a heart attack Friday night in Savannah. Aiken, a native of Savannah, had returned home two years ago after a long writing career and had suffered ill health in recent months. His honors included the Pulitzer for Selected Poems, plus the National Book Award and Bollinger Prize for poetry.

Nixon says presidency unique, not above law in tapes case

Nixon argues in a brief approved by the White House that courts lack power to force surrender of Watergate tapes, saying the presidency is unique and should be treated differently under the law. The filing responds to Archibald Cox’s reply and was filed in U.S. District Court.
