Plano Jaycees Aid Gregory Chambers in Cancer Battle

The Plano Jaycees and American Cancer Society arrange hospital transport for Gregory Chambers and his mother on Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays. Gregory undergoes daily cobalt treatments and drug therapy after a malignant intestinal tumor was found during recent surgery. The Jaycees seek volunteer drivers and baby sitters for Mrs. Chambers and her one year old, Matt, with hours 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Contact Jerry Johnson or Sammy Wible to help. A medical fund at First National Bank in Plano was established in Gregory Lincoln Chambers’ name to cover mounting bills.

Centennial Beard Contest extends entry deadline

The entry deadline for the Centennial Beard Contest has been extended to Saturday at 6 30 p m. Coordinator Jim Taylor said more entries are needed and interested participants should sign up at Texas Power and Light or Centennial Headquarters in the Downtown Shopping Center.
