Plano seniors register at Williams High for fall term

Plano Senior High students will register by college style times at Williams High School 1717 17th St due to construction. Seniors and juniors have assigned days August 13 14 with specific hours and a master schedule from spring. East and west side students also pick up schedules and pay a 1.25 id card fee with locker assignment.

Certificates Awarded for Reading Program at Texas Library Event

Woman Shot to Death in Houston Home Invasion

Anne B Loftis awoke to burglars ransacking her Houston home and was shot twice in the chest and once in the right arm. Her six year old daughter was wounded. Police reported the victims as the robbers opened fire at close range.

Mountainview College Teacher Pleads Innocent in Drug and Gun Case

Thomas Alexander Spencer pleaded innocent in federal court to cocaine possession and unlawful firearm possession charges. He was arraigned before U.S. District Judge William Wayne Justice and accused of possessing 22 ounces of cocaine with intent to distribute on March 28. Richard C. Massey, 25, drowned in his apartment swimming pool Wednesday in Houston.

Food Prices Up in July as Wholesale Index Rises

Wholesale prices climbed 1.2 percent in July led by grain products up nearly 8 percent. Farm and food prices rose 4.6 percent while industrial prices gained 0.4 percent. Officials cite farm, food, and industrial gains with some declines in fruits, vegetables, and cattle. Dairy, cereals, and bakery products also edged higher.

Collin County Sub-Courthouse Hours Promote Public Access

Justice of the Peace C J Prashaw notes the Collin County Sub-Courthouse at 700 block E 18th St operates 8 a.m. to 4 30 p m Monday through Friday, closed Saturdays, with services including vehicle title transfer license tag purchase tax payment voter registration tax roll inspection and courier filing. PD Activity Stays Light For 3 Days

Police activity stayed light for three days with eight burglaries among them five vehicle crimes and five bicycle thefts plus auto theft attempts and a motor vehicle burglary attempt. Ten criminal mischief reports were filed, a street sign and a stolen auto recovered, 189 calls answered, and 24 arrests including six for illegal entry and five on warrants.
