Fire Dept Answers 63 Calls in July
The Plano Fire Dept answered 63 city calls in July per Fire Marshall Bill Threet. Property valued at 200,530 was involved in 17 city fires including two grass fires and five automobile blazes. County calls and mutual aid brought total calls. 67 ambulance runs were also logged. Fire causes included careless smoking, trash buildup, electrical appliances, fireworks, greases, and wiring. Through July, the department has answered 711 fire calls.

Housing Starts Permits Rebound In Local Construction
Building Official Ralph Shick reports 122 permits issued last month for single family homes up 23 percent from June. Residential permits remain down 55 percent versus July 1974 totals, and seven month totals dip 42 percent from 1974. Total 1975 single family permits through July 31 fall from 1,063 in 1974 to 750.
