Trustees set a 1.54 per hundred rate for 1975 76 with a 0.15 tax increase funding a 4 046 743 debt service budget plus a 13 343 879 operating budget. Owner of a 40 000 property will pay 431 20 more in school taxes this year.
The board approved a 15 cent rate increase and outlined budget allocations. General administration 3.6 percent, maintenance 10.5 percent, and community services 1.3 percent. The district plans 7.707 million for new schools and sites, plus debt service.
State Comptroller Bob Bullock announced Plano will get 30 percent of mixed drinks tax for April to June, totaling 923.50 from a countywide 2305.58 rebate. Other Collin County cities share in the remainder, with McKinney 612.53, Richardson 451.34, Princeton 117.88, Farmersville 100.87, Frisco 6.42. Across Texas near 9 million in mixed drink taxes were collected, 6.3 million to the state and 2.5 million in rebates to cities.

Don Chancey of Plano, a technical illustrator for Illuminator Inc., is one of nine Americans competing in the free flight model airplane world championship in Plovdiv Bulgaria this month. He builds all entries from scratch aiming for top honors, with four planes prepared and a special packing box in progress for the journey.
A coffee honoring former Police Chief J B Toler will be held Friday from 4 to 6 p m at the Gladys Harrington Public Library. Toler resigned last month to move to another city after serving as police chief from 1959 to 1974 when he became assistant chief. City sponsors invite everyone to attend.
Two days remain for 1974 season ticket holders to renew reserved seats for five 1975 home games at Wildcat Stadium. Renewal ends 4:30 p.m. Friday, with five tickets costing $11.25 available in person at School Administration Building or by mail postmarked by Aug 8, 1975. Unpurchased seats go to public sale at 9 a.m. Aug 14. unsold seats by 4:30 p.m. Aug 15 will be sold individually before each home game.
