Sen. Lloyd Bentsen and his wife opened the Collin County Democratic Headquarters in Plano with a ribbon cutting and ice cream social. At Haggard Park he criticized Ford and Nixon era policies, urged public service jobs, mandatory minimal sentences for gun felons, and argued a Democrat can turn the country around in 1976. The event drew hundreds from Plano and the county before the party travels to Love Field.

Burglary Ring Tied to CB Radios Netted 20 Thefts
Two youths aged 16 and 17 were arrested on burglary charges after a tip from Officer Eddie Timbrell, with CB radios a primary target.
