The Sherwood Conservatory Course of Study welcomes eight new students: Margaret Inman, Loraine Driscoll, Nina Vaughn, Esther Sullivan, Josephine Tucker, Edith White, Katherine Arnold, and Wilma Duffey. Mrs. Nancy Wood travels to Indianapolis for extended visit with her son and family.
An Arnold Green Castle auto truck collided with a westbound Interurban car on Center street Sunday. Another auto bumped a 5 PM westbound car Tuesday. The Arnold truck narrowly escaped a similar incident Wednesday morning after the motor man stopped the vehicle a few feet from the crossing. No injuries and only minor auto damage.
New court actions list includes Ethel Ader vs. Miller Kendal to quiet title to real estate. Mary A Crowley et al. vs. Harry W. Taylor changes venue to Marion County. Chester C. Foor vs. Robert C. Light venue change to Marion County. Sarah P. Riggen vs. Richard H. Riggen petitions for guardian. Luther Burgings and Lester Jenkins sought injunction.
A series of court entries include judgments set aside for Lucinda Smith versus Louis Beard with defendants to pay costs, and cases like Martha J. Johnson versus Martin Devenport quieting title at plaintiffs’ costs. National City Bank versus David O. French awards $1,242.50 and costs. Marital and custody matters noted with divorce and child custody orders. Change of venue from Edwin P. Thayer et al to Marion County Circuit Court by mutual agreement. Several actions dismissed with costs paid and title quieted in plaintiffs.
Plainfield Lodge F and A M will confer the Master Mason degree next Tuesday evening. Miss Lois Loy joined the Order of the Eastern Star last Thursday. A social hour with punch and macaroons followed. A May 27 Chapter meeting will feature special stunts and refreshments. Naomi Rebekah Lodge meets tonight at 7 30. State and Rebekah lodges of Indiana gather in Indianapolis this week with I O F Grand Lodge events.
The Three Arts Department will render a Japanese program at the final meeting held at the library next Saturday afternoon. It is guest day, and every member is urged to attend and bring her guest.
The last meeting of the Mother's Dept will be observed as a guest day in the library assembly room on Tuesday May 25. A good attendance is desired.
Thirteen members and Miss Norton attended a library picnic last Friday. Miss Norton's afternoon talk drew great interest as she offered valuable suggestions.

Virgil H Lyon Post 186 invites all soldiers to march from the post office to the church at 10 o clock. Decoration Day address by M E Foley of Indianapolis will be delivered at the cemetery the following Sunday.
The Christian Church announces morning worship at 10 20 with minister Edwin S Sweeney and guest Renevincendent music by the orchestra Evening services begin at 7 45 wth a male quartet number replacing the previous 7 30 There will be choir meetings next Thursday May 20 at 7 PM Mrs Ralph Bly sang last Sunday and Mr and Mrs Orla G Jordan performed A Plea to the Conscience Note inviting the public to attend all services.
The famed Italian driver Ralph De Palma enters the Indianapolis 500 for $50,000 prize aboard a Ballot car from Ballet Moteurs. He previously finished sixth in the prior year’s race amid engine and tire troubles and aims to impress during pre race trials at the Indiana polis track.

Tra M Holsclaw traveling salesman for Holcomb Hoke Mfg Co tops April sales for Butter Kist in West Virginia earning 20 in gold for fourth place. He also led sundries contest winning a raincoat. He returned to Charleston with Mrs Holsclaw after a successful stretch.
Jewell Denny age 14 died of pneumonia. Lewis McCulley age 107, a slave for 56 years, died of chicken pox on May 16.
Mrs. Sarah E Raidabaugh aged sixty eight wife of Rev P W Raidabaugh pastor of the Friends church at Anderson died in an Anderson hospital of pneumonia. Funeral services were held at the home in Anderson and at the Friends church here with burial at Maple Hill. The Raidabaugh family long served the community with Rev Raidabaugh editing the Friday Caller and Friends journals. She leaves her husband, daughter Mrs Everett Newson of New York City, and son Paul with Daisy Raidabaugh as widow.
Fourteen year old Jewell Denny daughter of Mr and Mrs James Denny died of tuberculosis that developed after a severe influenza attack. Funeral from home conducted by Rev Watson with burial at Sugar Grove Wednesday morning.
Lewis McCulley colored aged 107 died at his son Lewis Jr home after illness of chicken pox and debility. Former slave in Randolph County North Carolina under Joseph and Robert McCulley he lived to emancipation era. Survived by sons Alexandria and Lewis and stepson Frank Jackson of Indianapolis. Funeral from home Monday conducted by Rev Williamson with burial at Sugar Grove.
A charm filled party honored Miss Marie Dooley bride elect at the Sims home last Friday night with about forty guests. Rooms featured floral decor, cherry boughs, lilacs, wisteria and Japanese lanterns creating a Japanese effect. Guests wrote recipes for cooking and a fortune telling contest on How to Manage a Husband, bound for Chaide-elect. A rainbow in the dining room led to a pot of gold of presents. Lemon ice punch and cake were served.
